Interactions Overview

An interaction is the record of a time you engaged with a client — it answers why you met, when, where, and in what context. It’s a container that holds the programs involved, notes, location/work mode/channel, timing, an optional visit reason carried over from check-in, external resources discussed, and the actions taken. For how interactions fit into the bigger picture, see Key Concepts.

  1. From the left side menu — the Interactions area.
  2. From the client’s profile — the Start New Interaction / New Interaction button.

Either way, the new interaction is tied to your currently selected client.

Field What it’s for
Programs The programs this interaction relates to. These auto-populate from the actions you add, so you usually don’t set them by hand.
Note Type The kind of note you’re writing. The available types are configured for your organization.
Interaction Notes Free-text notes about the interaction.
Location Where the interaction happened.
Work Mode In person, remote, and so on.
Channel The method of communication (in person, phone, email, and others).
Date When the interaction happened.
Duration How long it took. Quick duration buttons (5m, 10m, 15m, and so on, plus Now) fill this in and set the times automatically.
Start Time / End Time Set automatically by the quick duration buttons, or enter them directly.
Visit Reason & Notes Carried over from the check-in queue when the client was checked in; edit if needed.
External Resources Discussed Resources you mentioned but took no action on — search and select all that apply.

Use Save (or Save and Close) when you’re done. Interactions you leave unfinished are kept as drafts — see The Interaction Timeline.
